Description
Vintage American 1880's Brass Landscape Lens Large Format 8x10For your consideration: Early Unmarked Brass Meniscus Lens for landscape photography. I believe the lens was made in the 1880's by a New York photographer. Great lens for landscape pictures; wet plate or conventional photography. Glass is clear, has the normal cleaning and wear marks for a lens of this vintage. Larger glass element is chipped on the outside edges, but does not interfere with the image. (To clarify: Lens optics consists of two elements that are sandwiched together to make the "single meniscus" lens - located in the rear of the lens). Covers 8x10 and possibly larger. Lens has a wheel aperture with 5 stops. Brass has had some cleaning in the past but still has a nice patina. Lens approximate dimensions are 3-3/8" front diameter; rear diameter 3-3/8"; flange diameter 4-3/4". Lens approximate height is 3-1/4".
Lens is sold AS IS and UNTESTED. Please note that I do not offer partial refunds or returns. Please look at pictures as they are part of the description.
Lens will be shipped USPS Priority w/ Tracking and Insurance.
