Vintage 1977 Hess * Fuel Oil Tanker Toy Truck (Adult Collection)

I am opening up my Hess Truck Vault to offer a few items for SALE. First up is the 1977 HESS FUEL OIL TANKER. This is a beautiful 43 year old Hess Truck kept in an climate control, smokeless home. This truck was released in 1977 with the 1" Tall Rear Lable on the back of the tanker. Only 600,000 were made.
**** Please Note: Because this is an COLLECTIBLE item, I try to minimize handling it. However, each item I collect, I check to see if it works and add a note if I see any problems. This Hess Truck collectible did not have a note, so assume it's in top working condition for it's age.********
This is the first year Hess started to mark the date of the truck on the truck. The only difference in the 1977 and 1978 trucks is said to be the size of the rear decal. The 1977 decal is 1″ X 1 ½” and the 1978 is stated as 7/8″ x 1 ½.”  This truck boasts more chrome than the year’s prior, but still has working headlights and taillights, plus the removable hose. Another way to tell if the truck is a 1977 is that the battery cover says in Roman numbers “MCMLXXVII” (1977). The same cover was used in 1978 so that will not hold true for a 1978 issue. Still the best way is the rear decals.
I don't believe there are any inserts for this truck. I placed folded paper and cardboard to protect the truck from box (rubbing) over time.
