1974 Hess Tanker Truck
The return of the 1968-1969 Hess Tanker Truck for the 1972 and 1974 holiday seasons reflected a wise but cautious attitude during the early 1970s. By issuing this rock-solid truck with minimal updates, the company was able to offer a low-cost toy despite the inflation that roiled the U.S. economy during this period. There is one noticeable change in the '72 model: The stabilizers, or trailer feet, are round. The '68 and '69 stabilizers are square.
This toy was played with and shows signs of its age.  Horn on top of cab is missing. Body is split on seam (see pictures). Lights do not work. No box
