HELIOS-44-2
is
a
standard
coated
lens
for
Soviet
SLR 35
mm
Zenit
cameras
.
The
lens
can
be
fitted
on
the
M42
Pentax
cameras
.
First
HELIOS-44
lenses
were
borrowed
from
Carl
Zeiss
BIOTAR
lenses
and
issued
since
end
of
1950th
years
in
M39,
then
in
M42
screw
mount
,
and
had
not
very
good
glory
because
were
with
low
contrast
in
common
...
But
latest
versions
of
HELIOS-44
lens
became
very
sharp
.
This
famous
lens
was
manufactured
in
the
USSR,
and
features
outstanding
sharpness
,
contrast
and
color
rendition
.
I
saw
photos
taken
with
similar
lenses
several
times
before
and
I
appreciated
excellent
pictures
quality
.
In
the
main
,
most
all
Soviet
and
Russian
lenses
are
exceptionally
good
and
this
one
is
no
exception
!
It
can
be
used
with
a
lot
of
digital
Micro
4/3
cameras
with
simple
and
inxpensive
adapter
.

very
clean

with
no
any
scratches
,
separations
or
fungus
.
Focusing
and
aperture
are
very
smooth
.
Aperture
leafs
shows
very
minor
oil
signs
,
even
it
is
a
usual
feature
for
a
lot
of
Russian
lenses
.
Cosmetically
lens
looks
in
fine
condition
,
just
examine
item's
photo
please
.
All
functions

Soviet
lens
manufacturers
wrote
even
about
NEW
lenses
:
"The components of modern high quality lenses are produced from special grades of glass. The smelting process involved causes inevitable formation of gasses which get trapped in the glass to form bubbles. They are always noticed with complex photographic lenses. The bubbles do not affect the lens performance or the quality of the image. Soviet state standards also
allows
the presence of next minor defects: scratches with the width less than 0.02mm at each surface of each optical element with total length no more than double element's diameter; dots with diameter less than 0.3mm no more than 5 dots; several minor pieces of dust and no more 2 napkin fibers with the length no more 3mm. Therefore, the factory does not accept claims about bubbles and minor defects of clearance found in lenses or exchange such lenses.
