Nice 1968 Marx Hess Toy Tanker Truck in Original Box - Perth Amboy - No Inserts

For your consideration today is a great 1968 Hess Tanker Truck for sale. The Home Office on the front flap of the box reads Perth Amboy, NJ.
Overall the truck is in good condition. The missing pieces on the truck include the both mirrors, the exhaust stack, and the hose and nozzle - everything else on the truck is original and intact. The original chrome pieces are in great shape with little to no tarnishing. The decals are in pretty great shape, but the HESS decals on both sides of the tanker have the largest degree of peeling. The white strip of the tanker has some little dirt marks here and there as well. Besides these issues, the truck is in very nice shape! All wheels roll freely with minimal squeaking. The battery cover has the Marx Toys logo and square trailer feet. Please view all photos for full details.
The battery compartment is clean and free of corrosion but for whatever reason I’m not able to get the lights to work at this time.
The original box is included in this auction in decent shape. The box has some decently sized rips, including along the top above the work ‘tank’ and on the passenger’s side under the cab art continuing up towards the front flap. There is also some drawing in what looks like brown crayon on the top of the box. The top of the box is dented towards the middle, and there is a stain on the rear flap in the lower left corner. The box bottom is in very nice shape, with only a little bit of crayon drawing in the bottom of the box along the edges. Though this definitely isn’t the nicest box in the world, it’s still pretty sturdy and presentable from the right angles.
Unfortunately neither the top or bottom inserts are included in this auction.
