This lens was developed on the basis of the Biotar 2/58 lens (Carl Zeiss Jena). It was one of the most common lenses, released for the ZENIT-E camera.
Helios 44-2 58/2 has a threaded fastener M42x1.
The diaphragm is manually controlled using the pre-adjustment ring.
Despite its popularity and low cost, Helios 44-2 58/2 provides very bright, contrasting and sufficiently clear images.
The images made with this lens are airy and have a nice and slightly curled side.
