    ITEM  DESCRIPTION:
    THIS IS THE REAL THING!  NOT A GAFF OR CREATED ITEM!
    This is a Green June Beetle (Cotinis) from Kentucky.  I've kept it in my personal collection for about 10-15 years.  The beetle is stored in a small jar of alcohol preservative (as seen in the last picture).  I will add some paper toweling to keep it secure and it will be shipped in the jar of fluid.
    The right protarsi section has disconnected from the tibia but is included - common beetle damage and no segments missing.  Both sides of the beetle are shown in the pictures to show the entire specimen.
    The mutation is obvious in the pictures - one leg has "branched" at the femur and then one of those has "branched" again at the tibia, adding 2 tarsi (a triple leg) for a total of 8 "legs".
    Extremely rare specimen.
