    Found the number 14 at the back of head near hairline, #7 forearms and a #29 shoes. Other markings could be there somewhere but beyond a cursory look I didn’t want to damage the doll any further by looking.
    It could date to 1900; it was passed down to my wife’s mother [by her mother] who called the doll “RUBY” if that is any clue.
    Bisque head & shoulders; quite nice-looking, open mouth with 4 upper teeth showing; sleep eyes; Purportedly real hair [?]; no imperfections to the head noticed.
    Clothes: white dress, buttons at top back; undershirt, buttons at front top; pantaloons; sox; oil cloth shoes with metal buckle.
    Damage: one knee joint is leaking “sawdust”; arms, right forearm is broken in 3 pieces with some smaller pieces likely missing; left arm detached at shoulder hanging by a piece of lace.
    Hopefully it can be repaired or used as “parts”.
