1967 Hess "Red Velvet" Toy Tanker Truck - Truck Only, No Box - Used, Lights Work

For your consideration today is a used 1967 Hess “Red Velvet” Toy Tanker Truck for sale. This truck is indeed a 1967 truck because the battery compartment doesn’t have a Marx Toys logo, there are no rivets next to the on/off switch, and the HESS logo on the rear of the tanker is the rarer large version that is only present on some 1967 models. This truck is being sold loose, as is, without its original box or inserts.
Overall the truck is in nice used shape, though it is not without flaws. Most of the chrome pieces on the truck are broken off and not included, such as both side mirrors, the air breather, the oil breather, the exhaust stack, the ladder, and the hose and chrome nozzle. The square trailer feet are also broken off of the battery cover. The air horn is the one piece still included on the truck, though it’s pretty discolored. The decals along the trailer are in pretty good shape holistically, with only some peeling, chipping, and discoloration. The white strip along the tanker also has some dirt and discoloration here and there. There is some dirt/corrosion in the battery compartment as well. On the bright side, all of the wheels are present on the truck and roll with minimal squeaking. Despite being played with and a little beaten up, this truck still displays quite nicely and would make a great addition to a collection as either a placeholder truck or a restoration project truck.
